In early March, Dennis Tongoi and Cristi Petricioiu had the privledge of jointly serving as keynote speakers for a major conference of European church planters held in Amsterdam.
The conference, conducted by the Church Planting Institute of Reach Global, the Evangelical Free Church of America mission, was attended by 167 church planters from 30 European nations. The theme for the event was “Wholistic Ministry.” Dennis and Cristi presented materials from the DNA Vision Conference to the enthusiastic participants. Renowned theologian D.A. Carson also participated in the event and led morning devotionals.
Dennis wrote: “I am humbled by the response of many of the participants. One leader from Portugal has said he is willing to travel anywhere in the world to get more training on Biblical worldview and wholistic discipleship. Another invited me to train his team in Russia, and have the training recorded and translated into Russian.”
Cristi wrote: “I was amazed how many European countries Reach Global has missionaries in. I was more amazed that these people were not only hungry for the materials given in our presentations, but how many of them are already practicing wholistic ministry. According to many of the participant’s comments, they now have a better understanding of the concepts and new tools to glorify God even more in their church planting efforts. Many said it was one of the best such events they had ever been to.”
Dennis serves as leader of the Africa Working Group, the steering committee of Samaritan Strategy Africa. He also Church Mission Society, Africa. Cristi, a native of Romania, heads Dezvoltare Comunitara, the DNA affiliate in Romania.
